Alternative to Hay

New Material Is Available As Alternative To Hay To Enclose Relocation Sites.

Nokuse Plantation has been testing a new “silt fence type” of cloth fence and it has passed the first 6 months with no damage, decay or tortoise escapes. It is extremely economical.

The fencing is #935 Beltech silt fence (36 inches x 75 ft) with pre-attached HD oak stakes. The fabric is double-stapled to the stakes. It is made by Belton Industries, Belton SC, and the distributor is Pallen Industries in Conyers, Georgia (770) 922-1812 (Greg Pallen). They charged us $30 per roll plus shipping. Remember that the fencing must be buried 8-12 inches underground.
